Fitzgerald Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Fountain Hills

Halifax first baseman Josh Fitzgerald went 0-for-5 in Halifax's 5-4 triumph over the Fountain Hills 23ers, snapping his 20-game hitting streak.
Fitzgerald spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."
"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."
When Fitzgerald made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.
"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," 23ers manager Efren Nieman said of Fitzgerald's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
This year, Fitzgerald has hit 8 home runs and posted a .304 batting average.

Fitzgerald Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak

Josh Fitzgerald collected 1 hit in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. His club, the Halifax Heathens, beat the Detroit Giants, 9-3.
"Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Fitzgerald quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking."
Josh Fitzgerald grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th.
So far this year, Fitzgerald is hitting .310 with 8 home runs.
