Rotters Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire Monday, September 18th , 2023 The Riverside Rotters are heading to the League Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers. Riverside edged Encinitas in the series 4-3, with a win at EBDBBNB Park in the clinching game by a 4-3 margin. Jim Ells turned in a strong offensive performance for the Rotters and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Ells continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .385 with a .429 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 2 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Riverside Rotters will play against the Winchester Mountaineers in the next round.
