Castillo Blisters London
Sunday, August 25th , 2024
Ernesto Castillo was at the head of a Stockton Ragin Cajuns hit parade at Ballpark of Stockton. The 26-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the London Tigers that marched off with the 13-7 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Ragin Cajuns skipper Jeffrey Troke following the game. "Ernesto did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Castillo did more than fine, dominating the Tigers at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging first baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Ernesto Castillo singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Willie Trevino in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
Currently Castillo has 24 home runs and a .256 batting average.
