Ortiz Awarded August's NC Top Bat Prize Sunday, September 1st , 2024 When Juan Ortiz stepped up to the plate in August he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the National Conference Batter of the Month award. The young Charleston first baseman posted a .422 batting average with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 27 runs. Ortiz also worked pitchers for 10 walks to post a .468 on-base percentage. So far this year, Ortiz is hitting .305 with 16 home runs. |
