Hot Bat Cooled, Ziersch Hitless Against Scorpions Saturday, September 2nd , 2023 Charleston Shiners left fielder Nelson Ziersch finally met his Waterloo. A 21-game hitting spree is now history after Ziersch was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Syracuse Scorpions. Fortunately for Ziersch and the Shiners, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 3-2. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 21 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." In 131 games this season, Ziersch is batting .310 with 156 hits and 25 home runs. He has scored 139 runs and driven in 87. |
