Bravo Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, August 20th , 2024
Requiring speed, power, and regular contact, the cycle is often seen as a test of a complete hitter. For Willie Bravo, consider that test passed.
The 23-year-old center fielder hit for the cycle at Whislters Park, to help the Chicago Gangsters triumph, 6-4, over the Boston Whistlers. All told, Bravo delivered 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored.
"It feels good of course, but I'm not going to kid anyone -- there's a lot of luck in hitting for the cycle," he said after the game. "Several unique things have to come together all in the same game."
Willie Bravo hit a solo-shot off Matthew Rowlands in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and doubled in the 11th.
Bravo on the season is batting .200 with 5 home runs. His totals include 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has played in 119 games.
