Hit Streak for Julio Reaches 31 Saturday, July 27th , 2024 Clemente Julio's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 31 games. The Phoenix first baseman smacked 1 hit against the Halifax Heathens in today's game at Estadio Azteca, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Gladiators drop the game, 3-0. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Clemente Julio tripled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. Julio is swinging at a .309 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 71 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has played in 106 games. |
