Red-Hot Julio Scorches Dragons Wednesday, July 17th , 2024 Today at Gladiators Ballpark, Clemente Julio put on an impressive display. The Phoenix Gladiators first baseman tagged Dallas pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Dallas Dragons by the score of 10-5. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Julio said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Gladiators manager was unwilling to offer the first baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Clemente told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Brett Bartlett said. Clemente Julio hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
