Maine Reliever Hurt
Monday, July 8th , 2024
Stephen Boland of the Maine Pines was injured in today's game against Fountain Hills and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is back spasms, and he is expected to be out for up to 5-6 weeks. It happened while Boland was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
Boland has taken the hill for 16 relief appearances this season, nailing down 6 saves while notching a 0-2 record with a 2.92 ERA. The Maine reliever has limited opposing batters to a .222 batting average.
