The Chicago Gangsters topped the New York Nightmare, 5-2, in American Conference action at Nightmare Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago pitcher Bobby Nowlin. Cesar Chairez snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 2.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Kyle O'Hare earned the save, his 2nd.

Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Ryan Atkins to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gangsters on top, 3-2. For the game, Atkins had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Nowlin.

With the loss, New York falls to 3-5.
