Austin Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Ray Fight to a win, beating the Austin Desperados, 4-0, at Leatherback Park. Fight yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-5. The second-place Desperados now sit at 41-32.

The Sea Turtles got an important contribution from left fielder Derek Maher, who in the bottom of the third hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Sea Turtles ahead, 4-0.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Austin manager Adam Ponder.
