The Charleston Shiners eked out a 3-2 win versus the Dallas Dragons at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Dennis Allen. He was terrific. Allen picked up the win for Charleston, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The Shiners, now 47-25, have won 11 in a row.

Charleston needed the clutch hitting of Nelson Ziersch to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shiners on top, 3-1. For the game, Ziersch had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Ziersch. "I saw the ball well."
