Big Day for Havey in 12-7 Reapers Win
Bill Havey added some punch to the Carolina offense, helping them outmuscle the Halifax Heathens, 12-7. In the game, Havey, who is tied for 9th in the NC in bases on balls with 31, went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Carolina reliever Mike Heustess was the winner. His record is now 4-0. The losing pitcher was Branden Covington. Brian Finkel finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Blake Benigno had a big hit for Carolina in the top of the sixth inning. With Carolina leading 8-6, Benigno hit a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Reapers up, 10-6.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Halifax manager David Morris. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

The win makes Carolina 33-39.
