Riding the 2-hit performance of the 28-year old third baseman Chris Dellinger, the Vancouver Caribou stopped the Carolina Reapers, 4-2, in 9 innings. Alex Martinez picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-4 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 1 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Jeff Cox earned save number 19 this season.

Vancouver used the timely hitting of Cesar Ornelas to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Caribou on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Ornelas told the Vancouver Observer.

Carolina is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
