San Diego Loses, 5-3, to Daytona Beach in 11
|
Fans who congregated at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles topped the San Diego Fleet, 5-3, in 11 innings at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Daytona Beach pitcher Scott Reynolds. Daytona Beach reliever David Rogers was the winner. His record is now 3-5. The losing pitcher was Jeff Adams.
Daytona Beach used the clutch hitting of Russ Reinertsen to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Sea Turtles the lead, 3-2. For the game, Reinertsen had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Reinertsen, "and today was a good one for us."
Daytona Beach is now 30-39.
