Floundering Reapers Lose 6th Straight
The Carolina Reapers could not turn a fine performance from center fielder Blake Benigno into a win. Instead, the Vancouver Mounties prevailed, 6-3. Benigno was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Vancouver pitcher Lorenzo Villarreal earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Josh McQuaid suffered the loss. Allen Anderson earned the save for Vancouver, his 3rd.

Vancouver took a 4-3 lead on T.J. Arnold's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Arnold hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Carolina pitcher Pat Eisen visibly frustrated.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Arnold. "You've got to get results."

Carolina now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
