Maine Absorbs 2-1 Loss to Chicago
|
The Hideout was the site of a tense game between the Maine Pines and Chicago Gangsters.
In a low-scoring contest between the Chicago Gangsters and the Maine Pines, Josh Foreman was the X factor. The Chicago right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Foreman, now 2-10, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Keith Kramer, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities.
The Gangsters got a big at-bat from second baseman Nick Pratt. For the game, Pratt was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Maine manager David Whigham. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The win has Chicago at 26-41.
