Thanks in large part to catcher Josh Elder, the Vancouver Caribou beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 12-7. Elder hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Vancouver reliever Felix Flores picked up the win to move to 3-0. Mark Dudley suffered the loss. By defeating Daytona Beach, the second-place Caribou improved to 37-29.

Cesar Ornelas, the Vancouver center fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to make the score 4-2, Caribou. For the game, Ornelas went 3-6 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5.

Ornelas told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
