Stars Solve Fleet, 3-2
|
Hollywood Stars starter Chris Benson turned in a top-notch performance against the San Diego Fleet at Hollywood Grounds. The result was a win for the Stars, 3-2. The Stars improved their record to 27-38 with the win over San Diego.
Tim Schellin had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the third inning. With Hollywood leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Brian Underwood, who is tied for 7th in the NC in quality starts with 8, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 3-0.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," San Diego manager Brian Burnett said, following the tough loss.
