Caribou Lose Late to Stars
The rain did not keep Hollywood and Vancouver from finishing their game.

The Hollywood Stars downed the Vancouver Caribou, 4-1, at Mounties Field. Stellar pitching by Chris Phillips had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the NC with a 11.8 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. The Stars improved their record to 26-39 by beating Vancouver.

Hollywood needed the clutch hitting of Tim Schellin to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars on top, 2-1. For the game, Schellin had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Chris did a heck of a job," said Hollywood manager Alex Aguilera.
