Dennis Cambridge, who leads the AC in quality starts with 9, imposed his will on the Scorpions from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Tampa Bay triumph. The Captains raised their record to 23-42.

Cambridge earned the win to move to 4-5. In his 8.1-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 10 and walking 1. The left-hander allowed the Scorpions few scoring opportunities.

"Dennis pitched his heart out," said Tampa Bay manager Jalen Armour.
