Scott Swings Scorpions to 9-5 Win
The Syracuse Scorpions defeated the Tampa Bay Captains, 9-5, at Ahoy Park. Syracuse third baseman Justin Scott had a superb performance. He went 1-1 with a home run and 4 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. John Froerer earned the win for Syracuse. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 7-3. The triumph puts Syracuse at 32-32 for the season.

Right Fielder Casey Kearney made an impact for Syracuse, when he swatted a 2-run triple off Bobby Purdy in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Kearney was 2 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Enjoyed this one," Kearney told the Syracuse Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
