Big Day for Ordonez as Whistlers Down Scorpions, 6-2
The Boston Whistlers defeated the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-2, in American Conference action at Scorpion Stadium. Ricky Ordonez pulled his weight. The 7-year veteran was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Josh Cowels picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-5 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 1 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 1 run. The Whistlers, at 40-23, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.

Ordonez had a crucial hit for Boston with one out in the top of the second. With Boston trailing 1-0, Ordonez hit a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Whistlers ahead, 3-1.
