Jerry Blake did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cincinnati Royals from being beaten, 8-5, to the Indianapolis Eagles at The Castle. Blake hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Brendon Conway, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. The second-place Royals have dropped 5 straight games.

Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Bobby Butler to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Eagles on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
