Scorpions Use Late Score to Top Shiners, 3-2
|
Syracuse Scorpions starter John Froerer turned in an exceptional performance against the Charleston Shiners at Scorpion Stadium, resulting in a Syracuse win, 3-2. Syracuse reliever Ken Allbaugh was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Todd Thompson. The Scorpions now have a record of 24-37 with the win over Charleston.
Bobby Tapia was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Scorpions third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Syracuse manager Ricardo Lopez.
