Super Swinger -- Myers Slams 5 Hits
A jubilant Brian Myers joined the postgame press conference at Oakhurst Field to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Dallas Dragons pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Maine Pines second baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 9-0 Pines win.

"He made it look easy," said Edgar Puente, manager of the Dragons. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Brian Myers singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season, Myers is batting .364 with 78 hits, 6 home runs, 30 RBIs, .403 OBP and has scored 33 runs.
