Toronto Downs Austin, 1-0
|
The Austin Desperados wasted an inspired, 6.1-inning effort from starter Daniel Mitchell, falling, 1-0, to the Toronto Trash Pandas at Trash Panda Field. Sergio Penichet closed the game out for Toronto, earning his 6th save. Toronto has a record of 32-29, placing them last in the National Conference North East Division.
Toronto took a 1-0 lead on Phil Tibbits's 8th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Tibbits hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Austin pitcher Steve McClung visibly frustrated.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Tibbits.
