Both teams had their chances, but the Indianapolis Eagles eventually prevailed.

The Indianapolis Eagles beat the Toronto Trash Pandas, 7-6, at Trash Panda Field. Victor Mendez, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Indianapolis pitcher Mike Canales earned the win, hiking his record to 12-5. Winston Caballero suffered the loss.

The Trash Pandas had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Eagles going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old left fielder Marc McCain came to the plate. McCain hit a solo home run on a 1-1 cutter from Toronto hurler Winston Caballero. It was McCain's 1st home run of the year.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Mendez.

The victory gives Indianapolis a record of 79-79.
