The Philadelphia Marauders topped the Fountain Hills 23ers, 8-7, at Marauders Ballpark. Philadelphia left fielder Art McDonald was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Malcolm Freeman got credit for the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. Chris Jacoby earned the save for Philadelphia, his 35th of the year.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Marauders grabbed the lead when McDonald hit his 25th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Donovan March made it 8-7, Philadelphia.

McDonald said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

With the victory, the Marauders upped their record to 92-66.
