The San Francisco Fire downed the Vancouver Caribou, 14-2. The hitting star was right fielder Willie Villegas. Villegas went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Fire. San Francisco starter Kyle Griffin was credited with the win after throwing 88 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-8. With San Francisco leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Villegas came up to bat against Vancouver pitcher Juan Millan. Villegas hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 24th home run of the season put the Fire on top, 4-0.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Villegas after the game.

The third-place Fire are now 66-91, the Caribou 61-96.
