The San Diego Fleet defeated the San Francisco Fire, 7-5. Right Fielder Jacob Kennedy deserved a large share of the credit. Kennedy was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Fleet. Jeff Adams, who finished 2nd in the NC in saves with 36 in 2022, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-4. The losing pitcher was Pat Hiltner. San Diego raised its record to 94-62 with the win.

Kennedy had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 changeup from Pat Hiltner, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Fleet a 7-5 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Kennedy.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Kennedy, "and then get after it again."
