Schellin Stars in 8-7 Loss to Vancouver
The rain came, as predicted, but the Vancouver Caribou and Hollywood Stars were able to complete their ballgame.

The Hollywood Stars got a superb performance from left fielder Tim Schellin, but the Vancouver Caribou still won the game, 8-7. Schellin was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Jesse Tuuri, now 3-3, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Sean Ryan was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 22 save opportunities.

Had Jason Coppa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Coppa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Caribou.

"We came out aggressive," said Caribou manager Pete Clark. "We came out swinging the bats."

With the win over Hollywood, the Caribou improved to 61-94.
