The Toronto Trash Pandas defeated the Maine Pines, 5-2, at Oakhurst Field. Leading the charge for Toronto was designated hitter Phil Tibbits. He was 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 times. Moises Cruz recorded the save, his 3rd. With the win, Toronto has a record of 79-75. Maine falls to 92-62.

Toronto used a well-timed hit by Emilio Abreu to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Trash Pandas ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Toronto manager Walt DeRosier.
