Sea Dogs Rally Late to Nip Sea Turtles
|
The Charleston Sea Dogs topped the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 2-1, in National Conference action at Ballpark of Charleston. The standout performance belonged to Charleston pitcher and Yorketown, New Jersey, native Jim Savoie. Mario Barillas picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 9-5. Christian Chervenka suffered the loss. Charleston raised its record to 96-58 with the win.
Charlie Paquin was the walk-off hero for Charleston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sea Dogs shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I felt strong out there," said Savoie.
