Trash Pandas Sneak By Heathens, 3-2
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas took Halifax pitcher John Dollar's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Trash Panda Field. The final score had Toronto getting past the Heathens, 3-2. Dollar went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. Matt Jackson picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Ross Lefkowitz suffered the loss. The Trash Pandas saw their win-loss record go to 30-28. At the same time, the Heathens fell to 25-33.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Pedro Rangel came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Halifax pitcher Ross Lefkowitz, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Toronto on top, 3-2.
"Feels good to get the job done," Rangel said after the game.
