Gangsters Best Eagles in Pitching Duel
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago Gangsters and Indianapolis Eagles.
The Indianapolis Eagles wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter John Hennig, falling, 2-1, to the Chicago Gangsters at The Hideout. Nick Slover, credited with the save, is now 12 for 13 in save opportunities.
The Gangsters got a big at-bat from center fielder Eduardo Acosta. For the game, Acosta went 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season gave Chicago a 2-1 lead.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Gangsters manager Antonio Valdez. "This one was nice to get."
Chicago, with the win, sits at 52-98.
