Halifax Absorbs 4-2 Loss to Fountain Hills
|
The Fountain Hills 23ers picked up a win at Fountain Park, knocking off the Halifax Heathens, 4-2. Starting pitcher Sean Muzzy was a big reason why. Getting the save was Wade McGonigle, his 10th. Fountain Hills's record now stands at 73-77, placing them third in the American Conference North East Division.
Chris Dietel had a big 2-run home run for the 23ers in the bottom of the second inning. With Fountain Hills leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Efrain Gutierrez, who finished 5th in the AC in ERA with 3.51 last year, and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the 23ers on top, 4-1.
Said losing manager David Morris: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
