Scorpions Win at Toronto, 5-3
|
Syracuse parlayed a decent outing from starter Terry Droubay into a solid win over the Toronto Trash Pandas. The final score was 5-3. Droubay got the win, improving to 4-6. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Ken Allbaugh, who is tied for 5th in the AC in saves with 23, earned the save for Syracuse.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bobby Tapia? The Syracuse third baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Scorpions on top, 4-0. For the game, Tapia had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Terry gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Syracuse skipper Ricardo Lopez.
The Trash Pandas, at 64-84, have lost 5 straight games.
