Eagles Need Extra Frames to Get Past Desperados
Austin got a valiant performance from pitcher Jon Cordova, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indianapolis Eagles. Indianapolis won the game, 5-3. Cordova threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Greg Camarillo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ethan Yarbrough, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft, was tagged with the loss. The slumping Desperados have dropped 6 in a row.

T.J. Walker played the role of hero for Indianapolis. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a 2-run home run off Ethan Yarbrough to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"There's no quit in this team," said Eagles manager Pete DuBay.
