Syracuse Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
In a low-scoring clash between Carolina and Syracuse, pitcher Roy Walk was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-1 Reapers win. This loss makes it 11 in a row for Syracuse.
Todd Korn had a big 2-run double for the Reapers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Carolina leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from fireballing right-hander Josh Hamilton and swatted a double to center. It was his 27th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reapers ahead, 3-0.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Walk. "Successful pitchers do it."
