New York Topples San Diego, 6-2
|
The New York Nightmare picked up a win at Nightmare Stadium, knocking off the San Diego Fleet, 6-2. Starting pitcher Dustin Lewis was a big reason why. New York now sits at 71-73, while San Diego falls to 87-57.
The Nightmare got a big at-bat from left fielder Ben Callahan. For the game, Callahan was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave New York a 2-1 lead.
Callahan called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
