In a tension-filled contest between the Maine Pines and the Austin Desperados, pitcher Ryan Henry was superb. The Maine right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the NC in quality starts with 22, spearheaded his team's 2-1 win. Maine reliever Cameron Hutchinson was the winner. His record is now 9-9. Bob Baucke took the loss. Maine goes to 87-57, Austin to 69-75.
Maine got a clutch hit from Tobias Rivera. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.
"It was a solid team effort," said Rivera after the game.
