Fans watched the Halifax Heathens and the Phoenix Gladiators fight to the finish.

The Halifax Heathens topped the Phoenix Gladiators, 8-7, at Estadio Azteca. Halifax catcher Bruce Richards was a spark plug for the offense. He was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Andy Swift. The left-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-2. Jeff Buck closed it out for his 41st save.
