Philadelphia Dispatched, 5-2, by New York
|
The New York Nightmare topped the Philadelphia Marauders, 5-2, in American Conference action at Nightmare Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York right fielder Jesus Cardona. Jose Contreras was the winner. He's now 10-8. The loser was 36-year old left-handed pitcher Carlos Mendez. Chris Wyzard notched his 16th save of the season.
John Osterman drove in one run for New York. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Carlos Mendez. It was his 12th RBI of the season.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Danny Ordaz.
The Nightmare now own a record of 69-72.
