Charleston Tacks 5-2 Loss on Chicago
|
Charleston pitcher Matt Schapp did his part in helping his team beat the Chicago Gangsters, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The National Conference South Division-leading Sea Dogs are 40-17.
Juan Ortiz was 1 for 4 for Charleston. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Josh Foreman. It was his 44th hit of the season.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Schapp said after the game.
