The Vancouver Caribou had to reckon with Detroit Giants hurler Justin Thompson. Thompson, who is tied for 3rd in the AC with a 11.7 K/9 rate, overwhelmed the opposition in the 6-1 Giants triumph. Detroit, at 65-74, holds down last place in the American Conference North East Division.

Keith Brosch was a prime contributor to the Detroit win. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the top of the fourth with two out, the two-time All-Star hit a 2-run single. It made the score 4-1, in favor of the Giants.
