The rain did not keep Carolina and Boston from finishing their game.

Pitcher Josh Monroe was sensational for the Carolina Reapers in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Boston Whistlers. Monroe earned the win. Carolina now sports a record of 23-34.

Willie West had a big solo home run for the Reapers in the top of the sixth inning. With Carolina leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a curveball from Pat Wilber, who is tied for 5th in the AC with a 10.4 K/9 rate, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reapers ahead, 3-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Monroe told a Carolina Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
