The New York Nightmare got a superb performance from pitcher Dustin Lewis, but the Hollywood Stars still won the game, 5-3. Lewis threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. Andy Waring earned the win for Hollywood. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 11. With the win, he raised his record to 11-11. Hollywood is now 61-78, while New York is 59-80.
Hollywood used a timely hit from Tom Klenke to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Klenke. "And not try to do too much."
