Phil Gregoire pitched a gem to lead Tampa Bay to victory over the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 5-0. In 6.2 innings, Gregoire surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Carlos Barraza finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

Jonathan McCarthy had a big hit for Tampa Bay in the bottom of the third inning. With Tampa Bay leading 1-0, McCarthy hit a 2-run double. It was his 45th double of the season and put the Captains up, 3-0.
