Invaders Trip Scorpions, 5-4

The Oakland Invaders topped the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-4, in National Conference action at Howard Terminal. The game was highlighted by the performance of Oakland pitcher Dennis Allen. Oakland reliever Tom Paolucci picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Ivan Medina was saddled with the loss. Oakland's record now stands at 69-68, placing them second in the National Conference South Division.
Oakland right fielder Mike Bolden helped the Invaders go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Bolden hit a run-scoring single off Syracuse pitcher Tony Hendrix.
"Dennis giving us the start that he did was huge," said Oakland manager Dillon Moyer.
