Daytona Beach Tumbles Again, Falls, 8-2, to Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Captains knocked off the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 8-2, at Ahoy Park. Nick Rucker was a big reason Tampa Bay won. The designated hitter was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Mike Medley, the winner, goes to 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 7 innings. The Sea Turtles have now dropped 7 straight.
Justin Grasso's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the game tied, 2-2. The Tampa Bay left fielder hit a 2-run single off John Bickel to put the Captains up.
"They just got us," said Daytona Beach manager Edwin Gomez, "and that's all I can say."
