Reapers Suffer 7-2 Road Loss
The Boston Whistlers converted a terrific effort from starter Jay Helm into a win over the Carolina Reapers at Whislters Park. The Whistlers won the game by a final score of 7-2. Helm yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-4. Boston now has a record of 35-21 with the win.

Ricky Ordonez had a big 2-run home run for the Whistlers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from Kevin Farris, who is tied for 9th in the NC in innings pitched with 68.2, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Whistlers on top, 3-0.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Ordonez.
